Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 11, 2026
Lauper Labs, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") provides PeekLUT. This Policy explains information handling for the PeekLUT app, peeklut.app, PeekLUT pages on lauperlabs.com, and related support communications. We are responsible for the personal information we process for the purposes described here. You do not need to create a PeekLUT account to edit media, but the app and website use purchase, diagnostic, analytics, and advertising services that process information.
1. Your Photos, Videos, and LUTs
PeekLUT performs its photo and video editing, LUT processing, and media exports on your device. These editing features do not require you to upload your media to our servers. Local media processing is separate from the purchase information, usage events, and diagnostics described below.
Media you select through Photos or Files may be downloaded from iCloud or another file provider. Your device backup settings, cloud storage, and actions you take to export or share files may transfer media through services you choose. Those services handle the files under their own terms and privacy policies. If you send us a support attachment, we receive that attachment as part of your support request.
Source and exported files may contain metadata, including capture dates, camera information, and embedded location information. Review file metadata before sharing. PeekLUT does not request your device's precise GPS location for editing; our service providers may infer an approximate region from an IP address or store information.
2. Information We and Our Providers Process
- Purchases and access: product and transaction identifiers, purchase and renewal dates, subscription status, trial or offer information, purchase amounts and currency, and app-generated customer identifiers. Apple processes your payment credentials; we do not receive your full payment card details or Apple Account password.
- App activity: app launches, editor sessions, imports and exports, formats and settings associated with those actions, export counts, paywall views, purchase outcomes, and feature or offer interactions. These events describe how features are used; they are separate from the contents of your photo or video files.
- Device and diagnostic information: device model, operating system and app version, language, IP address, installation or app-instance identifiers, crash reports, error details, and performance information.
- Advertising and attribution information: campaign and referral details, ad interactions, installation events, purchase or usage events, and identifiers used to connect those events. This can include an advertising identifier where available under your device permissions.
- Support communications: your email address, messages, purchase references, and any files or diagnostic information you choose to send us.
The information processed depends on the app version, features you use, device permissions, and service settings. Some identifiers are pseudonymous rather than your name, but they may still be personal information. Purchase and attribution records can be associated with the same app installation or customer identifier even without a PeekLUT login.
3. Why We Use Information
We use information to provide and restore paid access, process purchase-related support, understand feature use, diagnose crashes and export problems, improve reliability, configure and evaluate features and offers, measure advertising effectiveness, promote PeekLUT, prevent fraud and abuse, respond to requests, and meet legal obligations. Usage information, such as export counts and trial status, may help determine which in-app offers are shown.
Where laws such as the GDPR require a legal basis, we rely on performance of a contract for requested services and purchase administration; legitimate interests for support, security, and service improvement where your rights do not override those interests; compliance with legal obligations; and consent for tracking, cookies, or other optional processing where consent is required. This Policy is a notice, not a request for blanket consent, and accepting our Terms does not replace a separate consent requirement.
4. Services That Receive Information
We share information with the following providers for the purposes described below. They receive information relevant to their functions. We remain responsible for our own data practices.
- Apple: App Store payments, subscription management, purchase restoration, and Apple advertising attribution.
- RevenueCat: purchase and subscription records, app customer identifiers, offer evaluation, and attribution integrations. Purchase events and attribution identifiers may be connected with AppsFlyer and Meta.
- Google Firebase: app analytics, crash reporting, installation identifiers, remote configuration, and feature or offer experiments.
- AppsFlyer: installation and advertising attribution, campaign measurement, and related usage or purchase events.
- Meta: app events, advertising attribution, campaign measurement, and advertising optimization, including associated app or device identifiers subject to applicable permissions.
- Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Cloudflare: website analytics, advertising measurement, hosting, delivery, and security as described below.
Email and support providers also process communications you send us. We may disclose information when legally required, to protect rights and investigate fraud or security incidents, to professional advisers subject to confidentiality, or in connection with a business transfer subject to applicable legal protections and notice requirements.
5. Website Analytics and Cookies
PeekLUT's websites use Google Analytics and Google Ads tags to measure page visits, referral or campaign sources, and interactions such as App Store link clicks. These services may use cookies or similar identifiers and process browser, device, network, and usage information. Google may associate this information with other activity according to its settings and policies. Cloudflare provides site delivery and security, and some pages use Cloudflare Web Analytics for traffic and performance measurement.
Browser settings can block or delete cookies and restrict tracking. Google's privacy controls also provide choices for its services. These controls may affect site measurement or functionality; they do not necessarily stop all server logs or every form of data processing. Apple's app tracking permission is separate from your browser's cookie and website tracking settings.
6. Your Choices and Privacy Requests
- Photos and Files: choose which media to import and manage available app permissions in your device settings. Removing permission does not automatically delete copies you previously imported or exported.
- App tracking: review or change PeekLUT's tracking permission in Apple's Settings under Privacy & Security → Tracking. Declining tracking does not cancel a purchase or remove paid access. It also does not turn off every kind of purchase processing, diagnostic reporting, or app analytics.
- Subscriptions: use Apple's subscription management. Uninstalling the app or requesting deletion of personal information does not itself cancel an Apple subscription.
- Requests: contact hellopeeklut@icloud.com to request access, correction, deletion, a portable copy, restriction, or to object to processing or withdraw consent, where those rights apply.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to opt out of targeted advertising or the sale or sharing of personal information. Disclosure of identifiers and usage events to advertising partners may fall within those legal definitions even without a monetary payment. Contact us to exercise applicable rights; device and browser controls provide additional choices. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. You may also have a right to appeal a decision on your request or complain to your local data protection authority.
We may need limited information to verify your request and locate records, because an app installation or purchase identifier may not be connected to your email address. We will explain if we cannot identify the relevant records or if a legal exception applies. Do not send your Apple Account password, full payment card details, or unrelated private media. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
7. Retention and Deletion
We retain personal information for the purposes described in this Policy only for as long as reasonably necessary, considering the type of information, ongoing service needs, legal obligations, and legitimate dispute or security needs. In particular:
- Local media and projects remain in the storage locations you use until removed by you, the app's storage or temporary-file management, or the operating system. Deleting the app may remove local projects without removing exports, Photos library items, or cloud backups.
- Purchase and subscription records may be needed to maintain and restore entitlements, handle refunds and disputes, prevent fraud, and meet applicable accounting or legal requirements.
- Analytics, attribution, and diagnostics are subject to the retention settings and deletion processes of the relevant services, as well as our need to evaluate performance and investigate issues.
- Support records are retained as needed to handle your request, follow up on an issue, and meet applicable legal or dispute-related requirements.
We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed for these purposes, subject to legal retention requirements and the deletion processes of the relevant services. A deletion request may be subject to legal retention exceptions and backup deletion cycles. Uninstalling PeekLUT stops that installation from sending new events but does not automatically delete records already received by us or our providers. Apple and other providers may retain records for their own independent legal obligations.
8. Children
PeekLUT is a general-audience creative tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information in circumstances that require parental consent without that consent. The applicable age and consent requirements can differ by country. If you believe a child has provided information that should not have been collected, contact us at hellopeeklut@icloud.com so we can investigate and take appropriate steps, including deletion where required.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy when our practices, services, or legal requirements change. We will identify the revision date and provide additional notice of material changes through the app or another appropriate channel where required. If a new purpose or practice requires consent, posting a revised Policy or your continued use alone does not supply that consent.
10. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, contact Lauper Labs, LLC at hellopeeklut@icloud.com. Please identify PeekLUT and describe your request so we can route it correctly.
